ABOUT ME

ISABELLA MEDALLE | VISUAL ARTIST & WRITER

Born in Australia to Filipino immigrant parents, now a dual Canadian-Australian citizen and diagnosed Autistic and ADHD as an adult, living between worlds is a recurring theme in my life and creative work.

Working out of my art studio in BC, I am heavily influenced by my connection to nature, by my family lineage of healers, ethnoautobiography, anthropology, my love of art and art history, the performing arts and my exploration of the spiritual and the world beyond the veil.

Working across multiple disciplines, I incorporate my wide-breadth of lived experiences into my practice; continuously experimenting, staying curious and remaining open to what unfolds.

Wanting to share my story to become the representation I didn’t see growing up, I hope that by sharing my voice, I can help others to feel less alone in this world and know that their stories matter.​
